GIG: Oscillations Launch Party in London

To celebrate the recent release and phenomenal success of Jus Like Music & Apple Juice Break present: Oscillations Part 1 & 2, we are pleased to announce that there will be an Oscillations launch party in London on Saturday 15th May. Presented by Bridging The Gap and Man Make Music, the party will be at The City Arts & Music Project near Old Street (EC1Y 2BJ). DJing on the night will be Oscillations artists; Slugabed, Om Unit, Kidkanevil and Mr Beatnick, as well as Bridging The Gap and Man Make Music residents; Count Chocula, Toot Sweet, The Fat C, Another Amit and Sketchy. Oh, and did we mention that entry is absolutely free?!

Things will kick off at 9pm and go on until 4am. Each person in attendance will get the opportunity to put their mitts on a limited edition Oscillations mix CD, mixed by Mr Beatnick. There are only 500 of these in existence and each one is hand numbered. Plus, in even more limited numbers, there’ll be A2 size collectable posters of the flyer artwork available to grab – as designed by the talented Ross Gunter. So, whether you end up leaving with good music in your head, a CD in your bag, a poster in your hand, or all of the above, it promises to be an amazing night!

All you Facebook users can find the Facebook event page here, and last fm users can find the last fm event page here. If you’re in London on the night of the 15th, we will expect to see you there – tell some friends too!

Lastly, if you don’t have both parts of the Oscillations compilation, or by some fluke you have neither(!), then you can still grab both parts absolutely free from the Jus Like Music Records Bandcamp page.

Oscillations Mix: Who’s The Boss?

The third in our series of promotional mixes for Jus Like Music & Apple Juice Break present: Oscillations comes in the form of a production showcase from the talented Cazeaux O.S.L.O. You can still catch the first mix by BUG and the second mix by Akello Light on Mixcloud, but this mix is all about Cazeaux O.S.L.O...

“As a youth I would stay up late most nights listening to the radio with my finger on the tape player’s record button. By the end of the week I’d have a whole new selection of tapes to share with my folks. Things have changed. Radio has changed and sharing the love has only gotten easier. Some may say that this has cheapened the love. My first response to the situation is to pose these questions, “Who’s the Boss?”, “Who’s at the control panel?, “Who’s making those definitive choices?” We all have the potential to be great CREATORS. Technology and Culture are tools, not an end in themselves.”

The launch of Oscillations is not very far away now and we’re very excited at the prospect of being able to share with you some incredible tracks from some incredible artists. Mr Beatnick gave a little sneak peak of his track for the compilation, Plastic Memory, at CDR in London last week. Om Unit‘s track, Neptune, is gonna blow heads off! And 00Genesis‘ funky number, Dew, got a cheeky airing recently via this low-key video. But, that’s all the gossip you’re getting on the compilation today – stay tuned!

Oscillations Mix: 3:37am

Following on from the very popular first Jus Like Music & Apple Juice Break present: Oscillations promo mix by BUG, we now present to you the second mix, by Akello Light.

Akello Light said of his mix, “An extreme amount of sedative herbal tea, incense and upcoming releases is the vibe. The tracks played are the artists I will be working with or just really enjoy (Slept on hard). Raw late-night uncut bedroom music in Hi-Fi. Hugs for everybody!”

Oscillations will be coming out later this month and, as well as some of the names previously mentioned, will feature some amazing artists on the cusp of blowing up, like; 8Bitch, Dza, Bluntspeakers, Vital and Grillo. Those names are merely the tip of the iceberg, but we don’t want to give too much away too soon!

Stay tuned for more mixes and then of course the actual Oscillations compilation later this month, containing the best in emerging hip-hop, electronica, neo-soul and dubstep sounds.

Oscillations Mix: Beats From the Den

We are releasing a FREE digital compilation, due out this month. It’s called; Jus Like Music & Apple Juice Break present: Oscillations. In the lead up to its eventual release we will be showcasing some promotional mixes by the participating artists via Mixcloud. The first of which is by none other than BUG!

In BUG‘s own words, “The concept for my Oscillations mix is to showcase a collection of instrumental hip-hop tracks created by artists from the Louis Den network. Every producer featured on this mix is from the UK and every track was provided exclusively for this mix.”

Oscillations will feature some of the brightest talents from hip-hop, electronica, neo-soul, dubstep and any sounds that fall somewhere in between. It’s a collection of tracks created by extremely innovative individuals from all corners of the world. Some you will be very familiar with, whilst others you might not be, well not yet anyway!

A new Oscillations mix (or two!) will come out each week in the run up to the release, so stay tuned for plenty more.

OUT NOW: BUG – Cosmic Lab / 20 Winks

24 year-old Londoner, BUG, is a keyboard player, songwriter and producer. Under the moniker, BUG, he creates an experimental, instrumentally grounded style of music with a compositional approach. The BUG sound encompasses the finer elements of hip-hop and neo-soul, yet the real beauty is in the delivery. Think the smooth richness of the Dam-Funk vibe, the solid construction of a Dilla beat, the electronic wizardry of Flying Lotus and the soulful melodies of Lonnie Liston Smith‘s jazz.

The debut single from BUG, Cosmic Lab b/w 20 Winks, is out right now via the newly formed Jus Like Music Records, and it’s absolutely FREE!
